More from the 2012 Dale Chihuly opening at the VMFA.
Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Museum, UVA, Charlottesville, VA. Consists of a donated collection of Aboriginal art and a rotating gallery. Most of these photos are from the show in the rotating gallery, “People of Substance” by Jason Wing. It concerned substance abuse issues among people of Aboriginal descent living in Australian cities.
I went here a few weeks ago with a date, who has since become my boyfriend. At the time he was hobbling around in a huge orthopedic boot for a sprained ankle. It was very accessible for him. When we arrived, there was no one there besides the older gentleman curating, who made sure to alert us to trigger warnings regarding the “People of Substance” show.
My 2 favorite pieces from the G40 gallery shows, both in the Metro Gallery space at 119 W. Broad. Followed by the sign I drew freehand with a marker because there wasn’t one printed for that spot, replicating the G40 logo printed on the rest of the signs. Not too shabby for freehand in a couple minutes.
